Backup & restore
Move your library to another computer or restore it after reinstalling: import a vault.json export. Data is merged, nothing is lost.
Tips
- For AI tools (ChatGPT, Claude, NotebookLM): upload posts.jsonl or corpus.md.
- For Excel / Google Sheets: open posts.csv and comments.csv.
- To read or share: open archive.html in any browser. Use "Print / PDF" for a PDF.
- Exporting from Library saves only your search results.

Download speed
Faster finishes sooner but looks less human to Facebook. Normal is recommended.
Daily safety limit
Downloads pause after this many requests per day. Empty = speed default (2,000 / 4,000 / 7,000).
Automatic daily update
Every day at this time, fetch new posts and comments for all your groups. Chrome must be open.
Updates re-check the last
Recent posts are re-checked for new comments on every update.
Auto-export after each download
Keep an always up-to-date copy in Downloads/group-exporter/.
Diagnostic samples
Keep the last unrecognised Facebook responses to help fix problems quickly. Stays on your computer.
Reset everything
Stops any download and permanently deletes all groups, posts, comments, learned requests, settings and logs from this computer. Your license and exported files are kept.
