Why we built it
Facebook groups hold years of valuable knowledge (answered questions, recommendations, real experiences), but Facebook offers no way to export a group, and its search can barely find old discussions. Existing scrapers ask for your password or cookies, run on remote servers, or charge monthly. FB Group Exporter does it from your own browser instead: nothing to configure, nothing shared, nothing uploaded.
How it works
Open a group on Facebook, click the extension icon, and choose what to download. It reads the same structured data Facebook sends to your browser, at a human pace, in a background tab, saving posts, then their comments and replies. You can pause anytime and resume later, and “Update” only fetches what's new. Everything is stored locally and can be searched, analysed and exported.
