Privacy policy

Short version: everything the extension downloads stays on your computer. We never receive your Facebook data, your groups, your browsing or your Facebook account.

The Chrome extension

• Local storage only. Posts, comments, settings and logs are stored in your browser (IndexedDB) on your device. They are never sent to us or any third party.
• Facebook access. The extension reads Facebook pages you can already access, using your existing logged-in session, only when you start a download or update. It does not read your messages, your password or other websites.
• Exports are files saved to your own Downloads folder. What you do with them is your responsibility.
• License checks. If you activate Pro, the extension sends your license key, a random device identifier and a device label (e.g. “Chrome on macOS”) to our license server to confirm your purchase and enforce one active device. No Facebook data is included.
• No analytics, no ads, no tracking inside the extension.

This website

• We don't use advertising cookies. A strictly necessary cookie is used only for the admin area.
• Payments are processed by Polar Software Inc. (polar.sh), our merchant of record. Polar collects your name, email, billing address and payment details to process the order and taxes, under its own privacy policy. We receive your email, country and order details to deliver and support your license.
• Server logs (IP address, user agent) are kept for security and abuse prevention for a short period.

Your rights

You can delete all extension data anytime from Settings → Reset everything, or by removing the extension. For license or purchase data, contact support@getsocialexport.com to access, correct or delete it.
