Guides / Export an Instagram following list
How to export the accounts someone follows on Instagram
The “Following” list of an account is often more telling than its followers: it shows the brands, creators and peers it pays attention to. Here is how to save it as a spreadsheet.
Updated October 2026
Step by step
- Open the profile on Instagram. In Chrome, logged in to Instagram, open the profile (public, or private if it accepted you).
- Click "Export following". Click the Follower Exporter icon and choose "Export following". Tick "Add profile details" (Pro) if you want each account’s bio, followers and category.
- Download the list. When it’s done, download Excel, CSV or JSON from the dashboard. Filters work the same as for followers.
Try it on any public account, free. The free version exports the first 100 people of any list to CSV. Pro is $19.90 once for whole lists, profile details and Excel.
Ideas
Map the creators a competitor follows to find collaboration partners. Save your own following list before a clean-up. Compare the following lists of two accounts to see the interests they share.
Your own account
Exporting your own following list works the same way. To see who doesn’t follow you back and who unfollowed you, use our Unfollowers Tracker, which compares your lists scan after scan.
